After continued positive feedback, we will offer a Trail Orienteering (precision orienteering) competition again at the Bavarian Forest 5 Days 2025.
Trail Orienteering is where several orienteering tasks have to be completed by viewing the controls from the track. At every control point between one and five control flags are placed in the terrain. It has to be determined, by precision map reading, which control flag corresponds with the control circle marked on the map - or if none of the control flags is placed on the correct spot. The completion time is not too important - there is only a maximum time for the whole course - but reading the map accurately is the key to avoid mistakes and ideally identify all the controls correctly.
