We offer another special event around the Bavarian Forest 5 Days 2023: on Monday 31st July, after the 3rd orienteering stage, a Trail Orienteering (precision orienteering) competition will take place, organzed by our fellow orienteering friends of OLV Landshut.

The TrailO event will be a competition in PreO discipline, where orienteering tasks have to be solved by viewing from the track. At every control between one and five control flags are placed in the terrain. It has to be determined by precise mapreading which control flag corresponds with the control circle marked on the map - or if none of the control flags is placed on the correct spot. The solving time is not too important - there is only a maximum time for the whole course - but reading the map accurately to avoid mistakes and ideally solve all tasks correctly. We will offer a beautiful terrain: the controls will be placed in one of the most beautiful rocky areas, already included in the courses of 3rd stage in the morning race. The TrailO terrain is situated about 1,6 km below Bretterschachten arena, direction Bodenmais.

• Elite Open (challenging, apx. 20 controls + 1 timed control) - open category from 21 years and older
• Elite Para (challenging, apx. 20 controls + 1 timed control) - physically challenged participants
• Elite Junior (challenging, apx. 20 controls + 1 timed control) - juniors between 17 bis 20 years
• Elite Youth (challenging, apx. 20 controls + 1 timed control) - youth up to 16 years and younger
• Beginners (easy, apx. 10 controls, without timed control) - Newcomers

• Elite Open & Para: 15 Euro
• Elite Junior & Youth: 10 Euro
• Beginners: 10 Euro

length apx. 600 m, descending gravel road (for all categories)

Start times:
approximately between about 2.00 PM and 4.00 PM, depending on amount of entries

Control system:
SPORTident for timekeeping, papercard and manual punchers for marking the answers

Prize giving and prizes:
The prize giving ceremony will take place together the prize giving of the Bavarian Forest 5 Days overall classement after the 5th stage. The top 3 of all categories will receive prizes.
