NEW for the BF5Days 2025: The Knödel Relay

Why have we added a relay to the BF5Days 2025?!?

The short answer: simply because relays are different and a lot of fun to run.

The Knödel relay will take place on Thursday 24th July after Day 2’s middle distance finish in Kubova Hut, at around 1400. The focus will be on the fun of the relay experience with a mass start, forked controls and a sprint to the finish. The relay consists of 3 runners: the first and third runners have a forked course of 2200m; the second runner has an unforked simple course (level of a W/M12) of 1300m.

To enter the Knödel cup, a relay team must consist of 3 runners.

To be considered for the ranking of the relay, the team must have at least 7 points:

M18, M20, M21E, M35, M40: 1 point
M16, M45, M50, W18, W 20, W21E, W35, W40: 2 points
M14, M55, M60, W16, W45, W50: 3 points
M12, M65, M70, M75, M80, W12, W14, W55, W60, W65, W70, W75, W80: 4 points

The relay team members do not have to come from the same club. There is no minimum number of women/men/children in a relay team.

The relay result does not count towards the overall ranking of the BF5Days, but there will of course be a Prize Giving for the Knödel Cup winners with prizes for the fastest 3 ranked teams.

Registration and fees: One team member needs to sign the team up on Orienteerring Online, and should include a team name. The individual runners should be confirmed at the Event Centre. The Fee is 15 euros per relay team. There is no advance payment required, just payment on the day of the race.

You can also sign up for the relay on Days 1 and 2 of the BF5Days 2025. We will print some extra maps for last minute entries. We can help you find a team at the Event Centre, so if you want to run but don't have a team, we can try and match you with other runners. There is no late entry fee.
